Refund & Cancellation Policy
Last updated: September 2026
This policy explains how cancellations, refunds, renewals and subscription changes work for Ask Destinations partners.
We have written this policy in plain English so it is easier to understand.
1. Overview
This policy applies to all paid listings, subscriptions, upgrades and related services provided by Ask Destinations.
By purchasing or subscribing to a paid plan, you agree to this Refund & Cancellation Policy.
Each destination listing may have its own subscription, price, commencement date and cancellation date.
2. Month-to-month subscriptions
Month-to-month subscriptions continue for successive monthly billing periods until cancelled.
You may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period. Your paid plan benefits remain available until that date, and no further subscription payment will be charged after cancellation takes effect.
Payments already made for the current billing period are not partially refunded unless required by law.
Where available, you may reverse a scheduled cancellation through the Partner billing portal before the cancellation takes effect.
3. Fixed-term subscriptions
Some plans may be offered for a fixed commitment period, including a 12-month commitment paid either upfront or in monthly instalments. The applicable term and payment arrangement will be clearly disclosed before acceptance.
New fixed-term subscriptions include a voluntary seven-day cooling-off period beginning when the Partner accepts the fixed-term commitment.
During that period, the Partner may cancel and request a refund of amounts paid, provided no substantial setup, onboarding, promotional placement, manual configuration or custom work has been delivered. A reasonable amount may be deducted for work already performed, to the extent permitted by law.
After the cooling-off period, the Partner may schedule cancellation for the end of the committed term, but remains responsible for payments due during that term. No refund is provided for unused time except where required by law.
4. Commencement of billing
Subscription billing ordinarily commences only after the relevant destination listing has been approved.
If a paid subscription is arranged before the destination’s public launch, no subscription payment will be charged until the billing commencement date disclosed during Checkout. This will ordinarily be the destination’s scheduled public launch date.
If a paid subscription is arranged on or after public launch, billing ordinarily commences immediately.
Completing pre-launch Checkout does not activate paid public visibility. Paid benefits commence only after the first payment has been successfully processed. An unstarted subscription may be cancelled before its scheduled commencement without a subscription charge.
5. Renewals
Fixed-term subscriptions do not automatically renew into another fixed term.
Before the commitment ends, Ask Destinations will invite the Partner to choose whether to:
- accept a new fixed-term offer;
- continue on an available month-to-month plan;
- change plan; or
- cancel paid participation.
A new fixed term begins only after the Partner explicitly accepts the renewal offer. If no renewal choice is made, the paid subscription will end at the conclusion of the current commitment and the approved listing will ordinarily revert to Get Listed, subject to continued eligibility and the Partner Terms.
An explicitly renewed fixed-term subscription receives a new seven-day cooling-off period beginning when the renewal is accepted.
Month-to-month subscriptions continue until cancelled in accordance with section 2.
6. Refunds
Unless required by law or covered by the annual cooling-off period above, Ask Destinations does not provide refunds for:
- change of mind
- unused time on a subscription
- partial billing periods
- downgrades or plan changes
- failure to use the service after signup or renewal
Any refund outside this policy is at our discretion.
7. Plan changes and upgrades
Upgrades ordinarily take effect immediately and may include a prorated charge for the remainder of the current billing period.
Downgrades ordinarily take effect at the end of the current billing period or fixed commitment term.
At launch, paid-tier changes may require assistance from Ask Destinations support or an authorised administrator. The applicable price and effective date will be disclosed before the change is confirmed.
8. Failure to pay
A paid listing is not activated unless its initial payment succeeds.
If a renewal payment fails, Ask Destinations may retain the existing paid benefits for a seven-day payment-recovery period while further payment attempts or payment-method updates occur.
If payment remains unsuccessful after that period, the paid entitlement may end and the approved listing will ordinarily revert to Get Listed rather than being removed, subject to continued eligibility and the Partner Terms.
Access to the Partner Portal and ownership of the underlying listing are not cancelled merely because paid-tier benefits end.
9. How to cancel
Where enabled, an Organisation Owner may schedule or reverse cancellation through the Partner billing portal.
A cancellation submitted through the portal is effective when the portal confirms that it has been recorded. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the applicable billing period or fixed commitment.
If portal cancellation is unavailable, the Organisation Owner may contact Ask Destinations support. A support request is effective once received and confirmed by Ask Destinations.
10. Prices, GST and price changes
Unless expressly stated otherwise, published prices are in Australian dollars and exclude GST.
Month-to-month prices may change from a future billing period after reasonable advance notice. There is no ongoing grandfathering of month-to-month pricing.
The agreed price for a fixed commitment remains protected for the remainder of that commitment. Any new price applies only if the Partner explicitly accepts a renewal or replacement plan after the commitment ends.
Association-member and other eligibility-based prices remain conditional on current eligibility. Eligibility may be revalidated periodically, including annually. If eligibility ends, any pricing change will be communicated before it takes effect.
11. Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies you may have under Australian Consumer Law or any other rights that cannot legally be excluded.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on our website.
Material changes will not retrospectively change the agreed price or commitment period of an active fixed-term subscription.
